At the time I was not aware there would be other Rick Damiano travels...Damiano, sounds Italian! The plot takes you to some of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean, you feel the warm sand on your bare feet as you walk the beaches with Rick and his South African friends. This book is a murder mystery but with great detail of each event, even how the killings take place and the people involved. But what excites me is that vicariously we find ourselves along side Captain Rick and his ship mates...with an El Presidente beer in hand or a plate of tropical yummy food. The author is able to bring the plot and characters to life right along side you the reader...this is the second time I have read the book, and keep it handy for future references. A,thrilling way to experience a travelogue of St Martin and the West Indies, but look over your transom, because there's a psychopathic killer coming up behind you. He has already tortured and murdered more than a half dozen sailors on his obsessive, manic quest for revenge and he's not finished. The authors graphic way with words, you feel each and every horror bestowed on his victims. Not for the squeamish, a real page turner. Loved the ending!
